Our History
The Sarawak Science Centre Sdn Bhd, conceived in 2017 under the Sarawak Research and Development Council to boost science literacy and STEM education, engages the public through interactive exhibits, workshops, and outreach programmes, with its new Kuching facility scheduled to open in 2026.

SSCiEX is Sarawak’s premier edu-tainment hub, where science meets adventure. Spanning 10.97 acres, we bring the wonders of Borneo’s biodiversity and cutting-edge technology to life through hands-on exhibits, immersive journeys, and interactive experiences—sparking curiosity and inspiring lifelong learning for students, families, and the community.
- ✓ Interactive Learning & Facilities: SSCiEX offers 328–407 exhibits across 22 galleries, science show areas, specialized labs (chemistry, digital, maker, innovation), workshops, auditoriums, and flexible learning spaces to provide hands-on STEM experiences.
- ✓ Visitor Support & Amenities: The centre includes a hostel, café, souvenir shop, and extensive parking (cars, motorbikes, buses) to accommodate students, families, and large group visits comfortably.
