About Sarawak Science Centre

The Sarawak Science Centre is an upcoming interactive science hub in Kuching that invites everyone to explore science, technology, and the natural world through hands-on exhibits, experiments, and creative learning experiences.
SSCiEX is the short form for Sarawak Science Centre Interactive Experience. It highlights the interactive and hands-on nature of the experiences offered at the Sarawak Science Centre.
The Centre is located at Jalan Stadium, Petra Jaya, Kuching, next to the Sarawak Stadium area.
The Sarawak Science Centre is expected to open by mid-2026. A soft launch will take place before the official public opening.
The Sarawak Science Centre is managed by the Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) under the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak (MEITD).

Before Your Visit: Planning and Tickets

During Your Visit: Inside the Centre

The Sarawak Science Centre will feature interactive zones exploring topics such as energy, environment, digital technology, and space. Visitors can engage in experiments, demonstrations, and immersive installations.
Yes. Science presenters will perform live demonstrations and short experiments daily. Showtimes will be displayed at the entrance and online.
No. The Sarawak Science Centre does not include a planetarium. Astronomy activities and sky-watching events will be organised in collaboration with Planetarium Sultan Iskandar in Kuching.
Yes. Visitors can enjoy refreshments at the café and browse souvenirs, educational toys, and gifts at the shop.
Most exhibits will be available in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Yes. Family-friendly facilities such as prayer rooms, nursing rooms, and lockers will be available for visitors’ convenience.
Personal photography and short videos are allowed in most areas. Tripods, lighting equipment, and commercial filming require written approval.
No. Food and drinks are not allowed in the exhibition halls. You may enjoy them at the café and designated dining areas.

Schools, Groups, and Programmes

Yes. The Sarawak Science Centre will offer educational group visits for schools. Booking details, available packages, and scheduling options will be shared closer to the launch.
Hands-on workshops, travelling science shows, pop-up exhibits, and STEM challenges aligned to the national curriculum for Primary (Years 1–6) and Secondary (Forms 1–5).
Yes. Outreach teams travel statewide in collaboration with PPDs and partners. Availability depends on calendar and logistics.
Submit a request with your preferred dates, audience size, location, and learning goals. The team will confirm schedule and package options.
Programmes are currently free of charge. Fees may be introduced in future depending on funding and operational requirements.
Workshops: 60-90 minutes (25-35 participants). Shows: 20-30 minutes (up to hall capacity). Half and full-day options are available.
Schools provide a classroom/hall and basic AV setup. We provide facilitators, activity kits, and materials.
